Jevon Henry

An 18 year old student has died following an attack in which he was stabbed in the heart in St. John’s Wood, north west London.

The family of the murdered victim, Jevon Henry, have appealed for information relating to his murder. Jevon was attacked at approximately 8pm on Wednesday by a gang of men described as being of Asian or Arab appearance. He was found seriously injured by police in Paveley Street, St. John’s Wood and taken to hospital where he died at 10.45am the following morning. The result of a post mortem examination revealed that the cause of his death was a single stab wound to the heart.

In a statement from his family, Jevon is described as “a committed student who wanted to eventually have his own business and who had a passion for bikes and motorbikes… He had two part-time jobs alongside his studies and was a diligent and hard working person". Jevon left St Lucia at the age of 13 to come to Britain and was studying to go into the panel-beating and body-spraying trade.

"No justification"

The statement went on to say that the family hoped that those responsible for his murder would be brought to justice and added; "[t]his was such a senseless attack and there can be no justification for taking the life of somebody who had so much to live for and who was so loved by all that knew him."

The Police are currently keeping an open mind about the motive for the murder. Det Ch Insp Tony Nash, who is leading the investigation, said: "This was a violent murder of a young man who had dreams and aspirations that will never be realised."
